Not legal advice. Written to match what the app actually does, and to line up with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are. Walktails (walktails.com). Grievance / data contact: <name, e-mail, address: required in India>.
What we collect, and why
- Account: name, e-mail, mobile, password (stored hashed). To run your account and secure it.
- Events and invitations you create: name, date, place, photos, YouTube link, guest list and RSVP answers (headcount, food preference, answers to the host's questions). Guest data is visible only to the host who created the event.
- Payments: handled by our payment gateway. We keep order IDs, amounts and status, never card numbers.
- Location: only places you type or pick. Exact device location is not collected. Private venues show an approximate area until you are approved.
- Photos / videos you upload, reviews you write, and basic usage logs for security and abuse prevention.
Who sees it. The host sees their guests' answers. Artists see your name and request, and your mobile only if you allow it and they accept. We use service providers (hosting, payments, maps, e-mail / SMS) under contract. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights. Access, correct, download and erase your data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to exercise rights for you. Use Settings > Account, or contact the grievance officer above. We answer within <30> days.
Children. The app is for people 18+. Where an organiser invites under-18s a parent / guardian consent flow is required before launch. <decide and document>
Retention. Account data until you delete it. Event guest data for <12> months after the event unless the host deletes sooner. Financial records as required by law. Backups are deleted on a <35>-day cycle.
Security. Encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access limited by role, audit logs for exports and admin actions, rate limiting.
Changes and contact. We will tell you about material changes in the app. Contact: <e-mail>.

Walktails Terms of Use (DRAFT: have a lawyer review before publishing)
- Who can use it. 18+ (or with guardian consent where an organiser allows it). One account per person. No sharing logins.
- Hosts and organisers are responsible for their events, permissions, venue approvals, safety and legal compliance. Walktails is a platform, not the event organiser. Fake, duplicate or misleading events are not allowed.
- Tickets and payments. Prices are shown before payment. Walktails charges a ticketing fee (2% to 5% depending on the host's plan, plus GST on the fee). Refunds follow the host's published policy and applicable law. <define cancellation / refund / payout timing>
- Artists. Walktails connects you with artists. Contracts and final prices are between you and the artist. Reviews are allowed only after a real booking or attendance.
- Content. You own your content and allow us to display it to run the service. No illegal, hateful, sexual, or infringing content. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break the rules, and review reported content.
- Safety. Report and block tools are available. Do not share private addresses publicly. Walktails may restrict events or accounts for safety or fraud reasons.
- Subscriptions. Auto-renew is shown clearly; cancel any time from Subscription plan. Features may change with a plan.
- Liability. To the extent permitted by law, Walktails is not liable for what happens at events. <lawyer to complete>
